On 21 June 2020, an annular solar eclipse could be observed from Africa to Asia. For Taiwan, the event took place from 14:49 to 17:25, a duration for more than two and half hours.
The pandemic of COVID-19 and climate crisis have many similarities: it seems that they both require decisive and immediate actions to reduce the losses. But the two still have different spatial-temporal characteristics, while interacting with each other.
This presentation discusses issues that are relevant when integrating variable renewables into the grid. In the end we present a case study of the residual load flexibility and re-dispatch schemes in Taiwan by 2025.
